Whether as a meeting place for friends, a place to work in the fresh air, lunch in the neighbourhood canteen or to attend an event. The "Outdoor Area Design" format has produced an overall proposal for the area.
Where should areas be unsealed? What are the desired uses for the area and how can a climatically pleasant recreational area be created on the current asphalt surfaces?
In three workshops, current tenants and interested parties were able to contribute their ideas and wishes for the Stadtwirtschaft's outdoor area.
Based on this elaboration, the next steps of planning followed up to the final implementation.
The planning of the outdoor area is divided into
four sub-areas
The four sub-areas at a glance:

The main aim of the planning is to bring more green spaces and plantings into the outdoor area to create a more pleasant atmosphere. At the same time, other concerns of current and future users must be taken into account. Areas must be kept free for deliveries and outdoor work areas, shady areas must be created and sensible rainwater management must be developed.
Limiting factors for planning are:
• Areas for the fire brigade
• Access and delivery areas for users
• Car parking spaces
• Existing lines
• Pipeline construction during building renovation
And what happened next?
Present
• November 2023: Start of design planning
• Acquisition of additional financial resources through the city planning department, so far around €240,000 is available plus funds for equipment
• Priority in covering the previously calculated budget: creation of green spaces, pipeline construction, cistern if necessary, lighting, equipment elements with foundation, trees
• Summer 2024: Gradual implementation of the exterior design according to the draft planning by commissioned companies, completion largely by the end of 2024, remaining work in spring 2025
